How to Memorize and Retain
1. Read aloud the 5 assigned verses separately 5 times in the morning , and 5 times in the evening.
2. Repeat this procedure for 7 days.
3. Each time before reading Scripture verse repeat book , chapter, and verse.
4. The key thought before the Scripture must be memorized.
5. After completing one assignment per week for 12 weeks, there should be four weeks of reviewing each of the 12 assignments once a day before beginning the 12 assignments in the next section



Assignment 1
Best text to arouse an interest in spiritual matters.
Life is brief.
( ) James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Life is uncertain.
( ) Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Death is sure.
( ) Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Christ may appear any moment.
( ) Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

No escape for procrastinators.
( ) Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Assignment 4
Assurance base on the fact of Christ's resurrection

Assignment 2

New birth is the only entrance into God's spiritual family.

The Lost are BLIND and cannot see.

( ) John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Ignorant and cannot

( ) John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Helpless, and cannot enter.

( ) John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Sinful, and first birth is rejected.

( ) John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Depraved, and new birth is a must.

Assignment 3

Definite assurance given to those who experience new birth.

Assurance on an inward witness.

( ) Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Assurance given by the Holy Spirit.

( ) I John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Assurance is evident by new love of Christians

Assignment 5

Man's Enslavement

His Nature conceived in sin.

( ) Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

His will enslaved by sin.

( ) Romans 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

His nature corrupted by sin.

His understanding darkened by sin.

God's law demands he is guilty of sin.

Assignment 8

God's Great Desire

That none should perish.

( ) II Pet. 3:9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

That none be condemned.

( ) John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

To call unto man.

To seek after man.

God Loves man.

Assignment 6

Reaction of sin in human nature.

Described as coming form the heart.

( ) Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Manifests itself by many evils.

( ) Mark7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

Defiles the man and makes him unclean.

( ) Mark7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Man declared to be unprofitable.

( ) Romans 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Wicked works prove him to be God's enemy.

Assignment 7

Consequences of Sin

Both physical and spiritual death.

( ) Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

A place of eternal death.

( ) Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A place of no mercy.

( ) Luke 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

A place of torment.

( ) Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

A place of everlasting punishment.

( ) Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Assignment 11

Sinner's Responsibility

To Repent.

( ) Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

To Receive.

( ) John 1: 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

To Believe.

( ) John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

To Confess.

( ) Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Luke 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

To Call.

( ) Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Assignment 10

Result of God's Sacrifice. Man now can be:

Redeemed.

( ) Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Reconciled.

( ) Col 1: 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Righteous.

( ) Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Forgiven.

( ) Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Justified.

( ) Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Assignment 12

The New Convert's Responsibility.

Be identified with his Lord in Baptism.

( ) Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Tell what great things the Lord hath done.

( ) Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Attend the Lord's house every Lord's day.

( ) Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Bring the tithe, the 1st 10% of your increase.

( ) Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Diligently study the Word of God.

( ) II Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Assignment 9

Sod's Supreme Sacrifice

His Son's death of the cross became our:

Sin-bearer.

( ) I Pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Substitute

( ) I Pet 3:18 ¶ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Sacrifice

( ) Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Sin-offering

( ) II Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Redeemer

( ) Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
