Dear Sirs,
The news media has been quick to point out the misinformation that flows from their on going debates but is certain to leave this one blaring error untouched. In the last Presidential debate Congressman Kerry said "We know that we are all God's children." Indeed, people of the book, know that is just not true, and saying such is more brazen an error than the trivial things that Dan, Tom and Peter point out as misinformation. Jesus said to his religious but unbelieving opposition "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do." (John 8:44) Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of the Bible knows that you are not a "child of God" until you are "born into His kingdom." Jesus said it very clearly in John 3, "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Again in the Gospel of Matthew Jesus said "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, ... ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." You can say that we are all created by God, but if the Bible is true we are not all the children of God only a very few are born-again and adopted into God's family and made the children of God. Again, the Bible says "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." (Matt 7:13)
I am sure the pluralistic news media wouldn't correct the Congressman for this Bible blunder, so this Baptist Preacher thought it should be pointed out. If the Bible is true, God had a Son, and you cannot be "children of God", Jehovah God of the Bible that is, without repentance and faith in that Only Begotten Son. The Congressman could have said we are all children of the higher power of our choice and been politically correct and even Biblically correct. When he pretends to know something about the God of the Bible, however, the book is clear that we are NOT all God's children. God wants us all to be his children. God wants us all to accept his Only begotten Son. But those who will not shall remain the children of the devil. God is not pluralistic, even in an election year.
Thanks for your help in declaring the Truth.
Sincerely Yours
Pastor Edward G. Rice
