54 Main Street In Dresden NY Good Samaritan Baptist Church will be celebrating its 10th anniversary of existence. Good Samaritan is the only Independent Baptist Church between the lakes. In the 60's the Independent Baptist Churches broke off from the Southern Baptists over issues of separation from the world, issues like rock music and Church dances are worldly entertainment to be shunned and abhorred by Independent Baptists. A hundred years ago the Southern Baptists broke from the Northern Baptist's (now called American Baptists) over issues of Modernism and their denial of the truth and accuracy of God's Word. Independent Baptists still hold to the accuracy and inerrency of the King James Bible for this millennium. Independents are separate from the Regular Baptists over issues of Board control of the Church, and Calvinism Doctrines. Independents hold to a head Pastor (singular) being the overseer of the Local Independent Baptist Church and to the doctrine that Christ died for the world and will save the "whosoever" if they will call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Consequently we strive to knock on your door and invite you to Christ. Visit Good Samaritan September 2nd and learn more Baptist distinctives, heritage and our ten year history. Sunday School is at 10 AM, Worship at 11 AM. There will be a dish to pass fellowship meal at 1 PM , and more preaching singing at 2PM. Good Samaritan is at 54 Main Street in Dresden NY.
